It is with a very heavy heart, I have to advise of the passing away of our dear friend and teammate, Jez Harvey.
His Son, Ross informed me that Jez had been suffering from mouth cancer since November, but that he had finished six weeks of treatment last week. He passed away in his sleep on the 25th June.
Jez was in the 1963-1970 year group, with myself and a super group of rugby players and athletes, including Tom Roscoe, John Checkley, Phil Goulding, Simon Dennis, John Cannon, Murray Hughes, Mike Sampson, Bill Sawyer, Ian Frazer-Barnes, Dave Phillips, to name just a few of a very successful team.
Jez was also a great swimmer, boxer and all round athlete, and one of the "strong" men in the year. Always great to have on your side and never took a backward step. A true friend who was always great company.
R.I.P. Jez Harvey.
