60th Anniversary SNOBS RFC Celebration

On Saturday 4th of May as part of their 60th Anniversary, SNOB RFC held a match at Ruislip RFC between a Past XV and the Present Ickenham Saints XV as the club is now known. The sun shone and a crowd made up of past captains , players and families watched a game of free flowing running (debatable) rugby. I had the privilege to be asked to Captain the Past XV and although having officially retired after 44 seasons in 2022 could not resist a last runout with old friends and my son. Age and experience triumphed over youthful enthusiasm with a win for the Past XV 47points -24points.

The after match festivities continued with a BBQ and catching up between old comrades which went long on into the evening. I as usual missed all this as I took a trip down memory lane at Hillingdon Hospital where I had taken my son after he had broken his collarbone during the match!
