Lindsay Copleston
Lindsay Copleston
We were deeply shocked to hear of the death of
Lindsay Copleston on September 30th, 1976.
Lindsay came to the school from Barrow Grammar
School, with an excellent report from his
Headmaster, at the end of 1972 when he was in
the fourth form, and soon established his
reputation as an intelligent and cheerful young
man. His friends speak most warmly of his sunny
disposition and of his willingness to smile and
make others happy, even when the plague of ill-
health afflicted him. His teachers were impressed
by his positive attitude to life, his great sense
of humour and even temperament. He was a balanced and sensible person, independent but popular. He is sorely missed by his many friends and mourned by the whole school.
