Dear Fellow Snobs
I was delighted to read John Cannon's recounting of 'The Great History Room Wall Avalanche '.
I feel that some 60 years on, I should also own up to being part of this escapade.
John, however, has missed mentioning the very key to the collapse. What had caught Chris Everest's eye was a pithy phrase inspired by
those of us who had noticed poor Mr Everest's somewhat prominent upper teeth and had nicknamed him Bugs Bunny.
The inscription which had caused him to point somewhat forcibly to the offending tile and to go into a rage read, " BUGS BUNNY IS A GIT."
Perhaps the time has come to apologise to him posthumously. He was a good teacher, better than many at the time at St Nick's, and a decent bloke too.
Perhaps next time, it'll be an opportunity to share 'The case of the missing door handle.'
