With a number of new members this season, the team was uncertain about its chances of success. However, a convincing eight wickets victory over Rickmansworth, largely as a result of a record partnership of 99 between Gathergood and Smith, provided the team with new-born confidence, and, in spite of a few notable lapses, the final record indicates an improvement on previous seasons. The annual Staff match provided the team with a chance to gain revenge for past defeats.
Although runs were more plentiful than in previous years, it became apparent that the batting has yet to attain the required consistency. In addition, the attack occasionally suffered from its lack of variation. and it is these weaknesses which must be remedied if the team is to continue to improve.
Colours were awarded to: K. Gathergood, A. Loveday, J. Samways, A. Smith and R. Wormald.

The 2nd XI experienced a season of mixed fortunes, winning handsomely, losing disastrously and at times being involved in the most exciting finishes. Nobody was really outstanding, but each pulled his weight, and, despite the team changes resulting from 1st XI demands, the spirit was always high. Although opponents were viewed with suspicion, matches were played for the enjoyment that could be had rather than as battles to be won at all costs.

After a good start to the year, the team slumped in mid-season to lose three matches in succession. The climax of the season was the final of the Eastcote Cricket Club Inter-School Competition, in which the team beat Northwood Secondary School after a close game.
Froggatt emerged as the outstanding player, topping the batting averages and coming second in the bowling.

After a poor start the team had a successful season. However, the batting was weak and nobody found consistently good form, although Cook and Blount did well at times. The bowling was strong, fortunately, Coath being the most successful and gaining good support from Lucas and Brooke.
There was an exciting finish to the season, against St. Marylebone, when Prior and Godden saved the day with a grand last-wicket partnership.
Junior Colours were awarded to the following: M. Brooke, D. Coath, M. Cook, R. Blount, R. Speck and J. Sawyer.

On the whole, the team played well throughout the season, but at times the middle of the batting fell through after a good start had been made; this was the case against Borehamwood. The fielding improved as the season progressed, and the bowling was varied and usually accurate.

The success of the side was mainly due to the consistently good bowling of Cannon and Curd, who, between them, took forty-one wickets. Regrettably, this high standard could not be equalled by the batsmen who inevitably tried to hit the cover off the wrong ball. A pleasing feature was the keenness with which fielding was approached, both at practice and in the middle.
