August 2025, John Boston writes: Wow, this one takes me back. The instruction, irrespective of the Master involved, was always: “Go and Stand Facing the Wall, Boy”. There was a St Nicholas version of Britain’s Got Talent in 1958ish during which Geoff Lee and John Richardson (aka Ricky) performed a quite brilliant sketch in which they dressed up as schoolboys and ran through a parody of school life.
