The Hawk (1957)
The Hawk (1957)
Original Work by R. WHITE, IIB
Down, down, like a flooded waterfall,
Suddenly swoops the silent bird,
As fast as arrow drawn from quiver,
Like a swiftly flowing river,
Never stopping by the way,
Till he grasps his hunted prey.
Then, up he flies not quite so fast,
Until with victory he, at last,
Reaches the nest with prey in beak,
And feeds his babes; then with a shriek
Down, down again he starts to streak -
The hawk!
