Eat Drink And Be Merry: For Tomorrow We May Die (1959-60)
Original Work by A. ROSSITER, L.VI.
(A Translation of an epigram by Martial).
Tomorrow, Postumus, you say you'll live?
But tell me when tomorrow will be here.
Where must I search? When will that day be near?
How much must I for that tomorrow give?
Perhaps it hides 'neath some far-distant skies?
For now that day has well outlived its date.
You'll live tomorrow? E'en today's too late.
For yesterday already lived the wise.
