By R. Penny
The season began in an optimistic vein following a favourable league draw and a virtually unchanged team from that of the previous year, which had won the West London Badminton League.
Concentration this year was on the Middlesex League, in which our optimism was justified by an unbeaten record, taking us through our area division and the quarter-finals. The semi-finals, which were in fact eventually played at Hendon, saw the team generously beaten by the eventual winners, John Lyons.
S. Entwistle and P. Morris played consistently well throughout the season, earning some good results. M. Tidy, R. Penny, A. Bath and S. Taylor provided the essential, reliable support.
All of our thanks to Mr. Cahill who taught us the game three years ago and who has since then, given up much of his time to encourage and coach us for a game we all enjoyed.
Colours were awarded to: R. Penny and S. Entwistle.
Half-colours were awarded to: S. Taylor.
