The Badminton Club has now been running successfully for two seasons.
During the second, membership of the Club was nearly fifty, the large support being attributed by some to the growing popularity of the game and by others to the subscription, which, unlike the cost of living, remained unaltered from last season.
The School team thrived on the keenness shown by club members, winning all three inter-school matches a fifty per cent increase on last year. Progress indeed! Bishopshalt, Harrow County and Rickmansworth Grammar Schools were our victims and Harrow and Bishopshalt also "bit the dust" when playing teams from St. Nicholas and St. Mary's at Mixed Doubles.
During the season the Club also organised two Social/Badminton evenings with St. Mary's, one at each school, an event which I have no doubt will become annual.
As during last year, the Club ran a singles championship. R. J. Art retained his title after losing the first set of the final to D. Rooke.
