Having successfully come through its third season, the Badminton Club is now a well-established School society. Membership remained, as last year, at fifty. The new captain was R. Butterfield, the new secretary, S. Lee.
Unfortunately, there was a lack of inter-school matches; only Bishopshalt were visited and entertained, mixed doubles being played each time. The combined team from St. Nicholas and St. Mary's won in both matches.
This year the Staff played regularly on Friday evenings in order to furnish enough opposition for their annual match against us, the boys. Their efforts were well-rewarded - they beat us 9-0!
Finally, the annual open tournament was won by R. Butterfield, who beat S. Lee in the final after a record number of fifty had entered the competition.
