By Mr. P. J. CAHILL
The fact that the School senior team had rather less success than usual in no way reflected on their approach to training, which was always extremely conscientious, or their willingness to turn out and race, which was always one hundred per cent.
Particularly consistent in both respects was the Captain, D. Roy, who was rewarded at the end of a long season by being chosen to represent Middlesex in the All-England Schools Championships and who is now running very well for Southampton University. Green and Wilder always supported him very well. Wintle, in particular, Finer, Law and Bailey all had their moments but lacked the necessary consistency for the team to be as good as it might have been. No report on the 1964-5 season would be complete without a mention of "Harry" Hunt, who worked harder than most without showing the improvement he merited; his cheerful persistence was an inspiration to the whole team.
My thanks go to all the above-mentioned, particularly to the Captain and to Wilder, the Secretary, and to the other "regulars", G. Dean, Roberts and Fitzgibbon; I hope they enjoyed the season as much as I did.
School Colours were awarded to S. Wilder and A. Wintle.
